The Winter of 2011/12

The winter of 2001/12 started out with not a lot of snow and really high avalanche danger in Utah.  My winter started out in Bend Oregon.  I headed up to Bend in December to visit my family there and spend the holiday season with them.  I had a blast skiing Mt Bachelor and the surrounding back country with my friends.  It was good to spend some time with my friends from Bend that I had made back when I lived there for a winter.

After Oregon I cruised back home to Logan, Utah where I spend about a month hanging out and skiing a little bit of Utah pow.  It didn't snow a whole lot while I was in utah and the avalanche conditions were really sketchy.  Despite these inconvinences I had a lot of fun.

Next I headed up to Leavenworth, Washington.  I spent the rest of my winter in washington enjoying lots of snow and great tree skiing.  There were pillows for days!  and I enjoyed jumping off as many as I could.  We mostly skied this one zone near Stevens Pass, just below Lichtenwasser Lake.  It was filled with large trees that were nicely spaced and lots of rocks and pillows to jump off of.  The snowed and snowed while I was there.

During the rest of my winter I enjoyed a trip to Crystal Mountain for some change in the scenery.  I met up with my buddy Erik from bend and we had an awesome couple days skiing the backcountry in that area.

I made one other trip during that winter which was a blast. I headed back to Bend one more time, to meet my sister and ski with all my friends there again.  It was well worth the trip!

My winter ended well...
